As spring classes begin to wrap up, our garden is really beginning to thrive! Our onion tops are nearly a foot tall, the tomato seedlings we’ve planted are showing steady progress, and we now have 9 strawberry plants in place. The pre-existing herb bed has been expanded to include a plethora of herbs from leftover event centerpieces, and we also have parsley and basil planted next to our tomatoes, plants which are mutually beneficial when grown near each other. As finals draw to a close next week, we plan to have all of our seeds and seedlings in place for the summer growing season! There will be a short academic break, and then the students will be back in the garden once Summer Academy begins. We are looking forward to harvesting our delicious organic fruits and veggies in just a few short months! Stay tuned for updates as our little garden makes BIG progress!
